An Army Mad Scientist Writing Contest

ADVANCEMENTS IN EXISTING AND EMERGING TECH
Submissions due January 31, 2027

Army Mad Scientist is hosting a writing contest to explore advancements in existing and emerging technology on the battlefield in 5 to 7 years.

CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING PROMPTS:

— Explore how adversaries may upgrade, integrate, and enhance existing or emerging technology (e.g. SI, autonomy, robotics) to deny and disrupt the U.S. Army’s four elements of land power (i.e. convergence, strike, close battle, and endurance) on the battlefield in the next 5 to 7 years.

— What new technological threats will the U.S. Army face in the next 5 to 7 years, on the strategic, operational and tactical level?

— How will the adversary use existing and emerging technology to challenge the U.S. Army’s cognitive and decision-making capabilities on the battlefield in the next 5 to 7 years?
